messages with friends concerning the day after
So basically my dad ans i woke up at 2 pm because we barely slept before that so we kinda woke up and left so we got on the train and went to norreport and then we got coffee and crepes...but anyway we got the food and then headed overto the denmark national history museum and on our way we spotted a record shop so i got 4 cds (eels, blur, the cure, bowie) and then we continued on and we got there like 20 mins before closing but we still saw a lot and i saw a beatles poster and my dad took a picture of me reaching for it dramatically and ill send that and all the other pics to you but yeah so then we left and went to meet up with the guy we met last night to get our pins and he gave them to us (i got 2 cus my dad didnt want his) and little mini wooden denmark flags lol!!! after that we went out to eat and we actually were sitting next to two guys who also went to the concert and they were SO impressed that i was 14 and knew all the stuff i did and i told them to join etcetera lol so yeah we finished dinner and then we got churros for dessert and after that we went searching for this other record store the map told me existed but it kind of didnt or it did but we couldnt find it so then we went back to the train station and then we made one more stop to go to this twin peaks themed bar called the log lady and it was cool but we only stayed like 3 minutes and after thag we got on the train back to the hotel and thats all
so yes all in all pretty good day and we leave at like 3am tomorrow so we’re just not sleeping lol

my post to et cetera about the concert
okay so i'll preface this with saying, i am 100% a victim of concert amnesia so i'll just try my best to remember everything show-wise
i'm starting my little story with when i got to the venue. it was probably around 2:30 pm, absolutely FREEZING and i had barely slept in the past 24 hours, but it was worth it because aside from the very early people (who got numbers and queued in a separate spot), my dad and i were the first in the main queue! i sort of just stood around for a bit, made light conversation about the cumbrella with some other people who arrived after me and tried my best to keep warm until @/blue oyster cat came long!! we chatted for a while, i got some food and some merch thanks to my dad who was fine with leaving and re-entering the queue a lot, and basically just passed the time haha. then italo and @/decks dark (and your friend, whose username i'm completely drawing a blank on! sorry!!) came to hang out in the queue for a bit even though they technically weren't supposed to be there hehe, and i wasn't supposed to be standing in the shaded section of the queue but nobody yelled at any of us, so oh well! but yeah i had a very nice time talking with you guys! i also briefly met @/darkdecks at some point after this! so after the long wait the early people got in front of us all and started getting in their assigned order, which at this point mrs blue oyster cat came back to stand with me in the normal queue and we waited for however long it took together. the tape separating the early and normal queue ended up breaking, and so i took a little piece of it as a keepsake
ANYWAY after a very long wait, it was our turn to be let in! we got past security, and in we went to the venue! we weren't allowed to run, so we did a very brisk walk around to the floor, where we decided to place ourselves between thom1 and jonny! we were around the 2nd row back from rail, which was super super exciting!!!! so then of course more waiting started, i was pretty much just in awe at the stage (err, cage) they've built. seeing the drums for there there made me so so so happy haha, i looked at those a lot for the couple hours we were standing there. at some point after waiting a bit, my dad looks behind him and sees a very familiar site on a someone's phone... et cetera! he points it out and so me and blueoystercat turn around and say hi, it turns out to be @/ubamor01! (and his friend!) so we made another two friends! while waiting, we actually ended up spotting mr. donwood in the seats, which was super cool! and then...the light flashes on the panels started! it was a little silly but it did make me quite excited for the show while dutifully cheering as the panel for my section lit up.
2+2=5! when the band came on stage i was kind of still just shocked that this was even happening, but it was THE BEST feeling to start singing along as the song started! i felt kind of jittery and exhilarated but just SO IN AWE! this feeling completely intensified as airbag started, and as the panels lifted it was just so crazy seeing thom and jonny standing literally just in front of me doing their respective things. okay so about now is where the aforementioned concert amnesia hits, so i apologize for not being as narrative for the rest of this. i remember seeing jonny's hair swoosh while doing some thing on his keyboard, he was bent in a way where it practically touched the keys which i thought was hysterical lol!! i saw every member sporadically, although i think i barely saw ed (i could see him a bit from where i was standing, though!) definitely saw the most of jonny, which was great! watching him start using the bow for pyramid song was amazing, i LOVE when he uses it!!! it really was a gorgeous song, it was just so so great hearing them play everything live
{{{The first chords of HTDC and the surprise after recognising it were pure bliss! However, somehow it was really difficult for me to let the songs touch me as they normally do when I listen to them alone. I don’t exactly know why this is. I hear of so many fans saying they cry so much at Radiohead concerts and I would love to know if you’ve had a similar experience of not really being able to get into the emotions in a live setting. It was a strange delusional feeling almost because I wanted to enjoy it and be so emotional but couldn’t.}}}
i ABSOLUTELY agree with this, i expected to be sobbing the whole time but i didn't shed a single tear. i was still 100% emotionally impacted by the songs, but i think i just had such a strong feeling of awe that it overrode every other emotion i expected. my two modes of watching the show were either 1. singing + dancing along, hype!! or 2. mouth wide open, staring at the stage completely unable to even move! sometimes it was a mix of the two, when like spinning plates started i was so excited but it was just so beautiful i was completely wide eyed, probably hyperventilating haha!!
i really just can't stress it enough how grateful i am to have been able to go, and how amazing it was to be able to witness radiohead playing the songs they did. another super happy memory is when colin walked around looking at the phone lights during no surprises, going "wow!!" and acting super shocked and awestruck. it was adorable!! also, myxomatosis! i completely freaked out when they started playing it, and as a treat thom came over to in front of my spot to sing one part!!!!!! AAAAGGHH!!!!! it was probably one of the most incredible moments of my life!!!!! and while i'm at individual song recollection, i quite liked the arrangement of present tense they're doing. oh and seperator!!! in the past few months i've grown super fond of the song, i loved hearing it!! aaaahhh so many great songs!! it was bittersweet hearing thom's dedication to the people who missed out on nights 1 + 2, i feel super bad for all of you... another bittersweet part of the show was there there, knowing it was probably the last song was so upsetting but it was GLORIOUS! plus the panels fanning out at THAT part... i get chills thinking about it. beautiful. also, i think i've perpetually had the dun dundun dun dun dun dundun stuck in my head ever since!
before i knew it, the show was over sad we started heading out, and on our way back i took a photo of one of the tour bus's little paper thing with the modbear on it. headed back to the hotel, then i called my mom and told her about my night smile so yeah... that's it! sorry for this being a bit scrambled. this is my alternative to staying up late doing homework now that i don't have any more assignments to do haha. thanks for making the thread, it was fantastic to relive that night! sorry for maybe writing too much!!
